Tiktok-business. How you can earn on the short videos service?
Good afternoon dear readers of Chameleon Business!
Today we will analyze the application for creating and viewing short videos – "TikTok". The app itself belongs to a private Chinese Internet company "ByteDance" , but despite its bright Chinese origin, "TikTok" confidently outperformed its main competitor – the American service "YouTube". How did the Chinese company manage to take its place in the sun pushing many large business sharks in the global IT ocean? What is the secret of the video hosting service "TikTok" success and why it has become the fastest growing social network in the world?
To begin with, let's deal with the cohesive of users. In total, TikTok is already used by more than one billion people around the world, the number of active users per month reaches 800 million, and more than 40 million people log in to the app every day. Impressive numbers, aren't they? This app is the most popular in China, where it is used by 60% of the audience aged 25 to 44 years.
The application interface is simple and comfortable to use. Videos are scrolled by swiping down or up, like - double tap, and to subscribe to an account you do not need to go to your profile, and many other useful features that save time, thereby simplifying the use of the application.
It is also worth noting the promotion. In order to become popular in TikTok, you do not have to buy ads, as in the same "Instagram" or "YouTube". It is enough just to shoot a video with a popular sound. In some cases, videos become popular without any effort at all: just the artificial intelligence of the application found the content interesting for most users. Of the minuses – this is quite fleeting fame. If one video has gained a million views, it is not a fact that the next one will gain 10 thousand. The audience needs to be interested in themselves and their content: however, as in any other social network, but even this does not guarantee that everyone will remain and be active.
Nevertheless, let's leave the technological functions and algorithms of the application and move on to its dark side, or rather, to its financial component. By the end of 2021, the Chinese IT company ByteDance plans to launch a public offering of shares in TikTok Global – a new company that will manage the short video app that has become popular worldwide. The main problem of TikTok Global's IPO may be the US Government, which sees the growing popularity of TikTok as a threat to its national security. The White House is dictating its terms to the Chinese company, citing concerns that the personal data of more than 100 million Americans using the app could fall into the hands of the Chinese government. Apparently, only the American government can monitor both its own citizens and the citizens of other independent states. But if the IPO of TikTok Global takes place, this event will be one of the largest debuts of a Chinese technology company in the global financial markets and will reboot the entire global IT industry.
To sum up, there is only one conclusion: "TikTok" is simple. In the 21st century, people no longer want to waste time on 20-minute videos, in which half the time is taken up by greetings and other milk-and-water. Capacity, practicality and comfort – are the keys to the success of the most popular social network in 2021.
